JOHN 17 DISCLAIMER - The prayer that Jesus prayed just before he was arrested has a section in it describing His hope for what the future Church will look like. Notice below when he speaks of "...those of us who will believe..." that's us He's praying for! Are we living up to Jesus' personal vision of the Church? Listen to His words.

"I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one: I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me." John 17:20-23. Emphasis added.

This scripture is hard to live. It requires much forgiveness and grace. Our enemy knows this and seeks to make the Church a divided house instead of a powerhouse. It takes strength and character to set our own agendas aside and focus on God's Glory alone.

Onelife puts a high priority on living out this scripture and we invite you to hold us accountable when we fall. When you see our mistakes, please be patient with us and help point us to the Truth in Love. We need to spur each other on in this race. The principal is you tell your friend about it, not everyone else.

We start our section on beliefs with this disclaimer, because so often the enemy uses even our well intentioned beliefs to divide us. If you see something in Onelife that you think might harm the body of Christ, please come and talk to us, and help us see where we are departing from the commands of our Master.

• THE BIBLE - We recognize The Bible as the most accurate (by far) book of antiquity using modern standards for evaluating ancient texts. We have weighed the evidence carefully and believe that it is completely reliable as the standard and guide for knowing God. We further believe that it is completely inspired by God. We believe that its power is amplified and purified when the Word is revealed by God's Holy Spirit. We believe the Bible to be the Sword of the Spirit and indispensable for spiritual battle. We live to obey it's teachings.
  
  
• PRAYER - We believe that prayer is much more than a polite thing to do at dinner. We believe that it can move mountains. We believe that prayer involves as much hearing as being heard. On the art of hearing in prayer, we believe that one can know with certainty the voice of Jesus speaking into his or her life. We believe that many opportunities pass by for lack of prayer. We believe that prayer has the power to protect our families and affect the future of our communities for the good. We strongly believe in the power of a fervant prayer and a humble heart.
  
  
• SPIRITUAL WARFARE - We believe that spiritual warfare is real. We desire to be trained and ready for battle. We believe that the Bible and prayer are two of our greatest weapons. The enemy prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. We do not wish to elevate this subject to the make believe, rather we focus on concrete principals based on the ancient writings of the Bible. The Rider on the White Horse - found in Revelation chapter 19 - leads us to battle.
  
  
• GOD THE FATHER - Acts as a Father to the fatherless. So loved the world that He gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. Did not send his son to condemn the world but to save it. Is perfect. Feeds the birds of the air. Knows our every need. Desires that we forgive one another. Does not sleep.
  
  
• JESUS THE GOD MAN - Was the vessel through whom the Creation was made. Appeared in human form as a man. Did miracles, we especially like the one about walking on water. Went to his death in the ultimate demonstration of strength and Sacrificial Love. Rose from the dead. Paid the penalty for death and sin. Is the only way to Salvation. Will appear again as a warrior king leading the armies of Heaven into battle against the beast and the kings of the earth.
  
  
• THE HOLY SPIRIT OF GOD - Was sent by Jesus. Leads us in the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Is the Person of Truth. Convicts our hearts of wrong doing and leads the way to life. Can fill our Spirits to overflowing measures. Produces the fruits of: Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self Control. Is attracted by Humility.
